CNA names chief diversity officer

CNA said in a recent release that it has appointed Joyce Trimuel as senior vice president and chief diversity officer, a role established as an initiative toward building a "diverse and inclusive culture" at CNA.

Trimuel has nearly 20 years of underwriting and industry leadership experience. She recently served as vice president and Kansas City branch manager for Chubb and was the creator of the Lead.Link.Leverage initiative which offers more than 200 women business leaders professional career development in the Kansas City area, the release said.

Trimuel will be in charge of the development of strategic priorities working toward diversity and will report to CNA Chief Human Resources Officer Liz Aguinaga.

“In addition to being a catalyst for positive change and a passionate, demonstrated champion of diversity, Joyce is a results-driven business leader who will ensure we attract, develop and retain the best people by focusing on the broadest possible pool of talent within our company and throughout the marketplace,” Aguinaga said in the release.

Trimuel received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. She was acting chair of Chubb's Multicultural Development Council where she developed a revolutionary leadership development program. She has also led a number of civic and charitable partnerships.
