Eastern Bank to reward Selfies For Good

Boston-based Eastern Bank, the largest mutual bank in the country, said it wants to "create a movement” with its Join Us For Good program.

The aim of the Join Us For Good program is to “inspire customers and communities, celebrate those who are making a difference and rally others to join together … to do good things and help people prosper,” Eastern Bank said in a recent release.

The program, which the bank said it plans to sustain for several year, will highlight people doing good things in their communities while reaching out to others with opportunities to do the same, all via an ad campaign, the company’s website, billboards, social media and its own continued giving.

To help launch the effort, the bank is asking New Englanders to become involved in the program with its Selfies For Good giveaway, running through April 4. The bank will give away $200 to 500 winners who submit a selfie using the hashtag #JoinUsForGood on Twitter or Instagram. To view the Selfies For Good gallery, and the weekly winners, go to https://joinusforgood.com/.

“As a community bank, Eastern Bank’s success depends on a vibrant and prosperous community,” Eastern Bank Chairman and CEO Bob Rivers said in the release. “Join Us For Good is a tangible expression of our brand purpose and our commitment to doing things that help people prosper, the very reason we were founded in 1818.”
