MetLife has a new chief market strategist

MetLife recently named Drew Matus as chief market strategist.

Matus will be responsible for the company’s global and economic market outlooks, MetLife said in a release.

“Drew brings a wealth of experience to MetLife,” Executive Vice President and Head of Global Portfolio Management Richard Leist said in the release. “His two decades of financial services industry knowledge and strong track record of actionable, strategic advice will be invaluable to our team as we make investment decisions in increasingly dynamic markets.”

Prior to joining MetLife, Matus was the deputy chief economist for UBS Securities and has also worked as a senior economist for Bank of America. He graduated from Colby College before gaining an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

“Drew’s expertise will help us as we continue to grow our investment management platform for external clients,” Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer Steven Goulart said in the release. “We are pleased to welcome him to the Investments team and look forward to his insights and contributions.”
