Allstate customers with an Amazon Echo or
another Alexa-voiced device can simply ask the personal assistant for
help or information about their coverage, the location of an Allstate
office and more.
“Allstate has a history of innovation
and consumers expect that to continue from us,” Roger Tye,
Allstate’s vice president of Digital and User Experience, said.
“Amazon’s innovation with Alexa provided a great avenue for us to
connect with our customers in a delightful way, providing them useful
information when, where and how they want it.”
Allstate
has released an account-specific skill for Alexa, which customers can
enable it to the “Skills” section of their Amazon Alexa app. They
can then search for a variety of information, either specific to
their account – when their bill is due and the amount they owe, for
example – or general, such as finding the nearest agent by entering
their zip code.
“This is a
new platform for us, but we continuously look for innovative ways to
reach our consumers directly and make it easy to do business with
Allstate,” said Tye.
